Sometimes I feel like people only ship slash pairings because they think two guys making out is hot. I have so many reasons and so many feelings about my OTP that I couldn’t just see two hot guys and think, “I want them together.”
I now what you mean, I get this feeling most…
Exactly! I have an equally amount of slash pairings and het pairings. It’s the dynamics of the relationship, its potentiality that really makes me start shipping thing and sometimes it’s just pure chemistry. Like, take Puckurt for instance. When I started watching the show I started shipping Puckurt from the Pilot, I could have picked Finn/Kurt, but I just saw something in Puck/Kurt, the way Puck’s hand slid slowly over Kurt’s, the way Kurt gave his bag to Puck… Even before I found out just how perfect they were for each other I saw something in them that went a lot beyond the simple, “You’re two hot guys you should be together”.
For me Slash was always a way to see the great side/back stories.
A guy meets a girls, they are perfect to each other, then you have a triangle and jealous…blablabla.
My first shipping was Harry/Snape, because I saw how much Harry needed someone strong to help him through the shit. Ginny was a blergh girl, without fiber to take the pressure and give the support Harry needed. That’s also why I shipped Harry/Hermione.
In glee, the hetero couples seem to be in a endless fuck up. No one really loves no one and things just progress because it’s the “normal way”. Well fuck it.
As i said before, Kurt and Puck do a lot of sense. They are the only back storie that been progressively working. It’s a storie that take into account the history of each character. It took 3 seasons for you to have really a friendship between them. It was one step at time, always working. Can you say the same abou Blaine and Kurt? They shoved at us the fairy tale and expect it to work.
Going back to the slash. I almost never write het, I don’t know why. I took me a very long time to read and to write stories that aren’t just pwp or lemon filled. That was a case of maturity and a response to seeing just pwp without a prior plot.
So yes, slash is a very wonderful world, when people see the potencial and treat a M/M couple or F/F couple with the same respect that F/M couples have.
As curiosity, I don’t have a OTP, even if do appear I love Puckurt *wich I do*.
On the het front, Mike/Tina is the couple that makes very much sense to me, even with the inicial ansian plot.
In other fandons I almost all the way slash reader. The only het shipper I really love is George/Luna in HP.
And that’s how anassa C’s it. *love the Sue jargon*
I used to ship Harry/Hermione too for the reasons you too wrote. I think I used to write het with them when I was 11 but then for a few years I stopped and when I started again it was slash. It happens sometimes that I write Finchel as a side pairing of Kurt and Puck and I attempted to write Blaine/Rachel but mostly, sometimes writing het things comes really hard to me, I don’t know if it’s because I don’t read more than one fandom at the same time. Like, for the last year I’ve been pretty much just reading Drarry and Puckurt so not reading het stuff writing it becomes kind of difficult. Also, there are so many het couples on the shows and I never read fanfictions if the couple is canon, except for Brian/Justin, because it tends to bore me, so I write and read slash because it’s what it’s not on the shows, it kind of gives you more to work with, you know? Your imagination can run wilder.
Exactly. That’s also why I don’t have a OTP. I like to explore with all shippers and read each a least once. Or to uso...

Absolutely. It’s these little things that makes Puckurt so great. For me it was how they looked at each other an their...
